Katerina Trakakis is an art director and graphic designer based in Berlin. With a broad expertise that spans across both print and digital media, her creative process is concept-driven, while employing a typographic approach to shape the formal aspects of her work. Collaborating with clients in the cultural sector and creatives from diverse disciplines, she is dedicated to delivering visually distinct and singular solutions.
In 2022, Katerina served as a jury member for the Förderpreis für Junge Buchgestaltung as well as the Erstwerk competition. In the winter semester of 2023/24, she held a teaching assignment at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Bielefeld. Her work has been recognized by institutions including Type Directors Club New York, Art Directors Club Germany, Stiftung Buchkunst, and 100 Beste Plakate.
Before starting her own studio, Katerina spent six years as an art director at Neue Gestaltung in Berlin and interned with Swiss designer Dan Solbach. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Design from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Bielefeld.
